Martin Wieland died July 4,. 1963 in the Lancaster, hospital after a long illness. He was 67.

Wieland was born in Grant County Oct. 2, 1895. His father was Christian Wieland and Lena Brinkman was his mother.

Funeral services for Wieland were held July 8, Monday, in the Presbyterian Church, with the Reverend Pryor Smith officiating. Burial was in Hurricane with military graveside services.

Survivors include his wife, Helen, a son, Joseph, of Eau Claire, another son Paul of Dodgeville, a foster daughter, Mrs. Robert Horan of San Antonio, Texas, a brother, Will, Lancaster, two sisters, Ms. Clara Hovis, Cavalier, North Dakota, and Mrs. Clarke Hampton, Mt. Hope.

Martin married Earla Birdella Chapman, daughter of Archie Chapman and Ruby Meyers, on 12 Jan 1927 in Beetown, WI. (Earla Birdella Chapman was born on 5 Jan 1909 in Beetown, WI, died on 21 Mar 1950 in Dubuque, IA and was buried in Hurricane, WI, Hurricane Cemetery.). The cause of her death was Cancer.
