Christian & Caroline farmed and raised all their children o n the same farm in Potosi Township, Wisconsin. A son, Mart in, later purchased the farm and continued farming until h e retired to Lancaster, Wisconsin. Then a grandson of Chri stian, son of William, Virgil "Bud" Wieland, purchased th e farm where he farmed with his sons William Virgil "Billy Bud", Dennis, and Dick. The farm is/was known as the B& D Farms, located southeast of Hurricane Corner.

bullet  Noted events in his life were:

1. Immigration, Abt 1863.

2. Obituary: Grant County Herald, Lancaster, WI, 12-5-1928. Christian Wieland was born in Grafield, Switzerland, October 9, 1859. At the age of 4 years, he came to this country with his parents and settled in Dubuque. Two years later, the family moved to Potosi, WI.

As a young man, he joined with the Presbyterian church.

On March 25th, 1886, he married Miss. Caroline Louise Brinkman. To this union were born ten children. One died in infancy and Wallace died in France during the World War.

Those surviving his death are his widow and eight children as follows:

Thomas William of Lancaster. Mrs Minnie Marie Udelhoven of Winfield, Mont. Mrs Clara Ann Hovis of Grabul, Wyoming. John Robert of Regent, ND and Fred Martin William and Mrs Rose Hampton, all of Lancaster.

Besides his children there are 25 grandchildren and one brother Geo. Wieland, a half-brother Joe Wieland of Arcadia, Wis., and a sister, Mars. Anna Payjant of Schuyler, Neb.

On Nov. 23 at about 11:30 p.m. at the age of 69 years and 14 days, the Angel of death coming as a thief in the night to snatch his soul from this mortal home only to leave loved ones and all behind. Thus impressing upon us the great fact of God's word: "We are but strangers and Pilgrims on the earth."
