Donald Edward Taylor

1. Obituary. LANCASTER - Donald E. Taylor, age 79, of Lancaster, died on Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at his home in Ellenboro Township. He was born July 4, 1926, in Lancaster, the son of Kenneth and Bertha (Wieland) Taylor. Don graduated from Lancaster High School in 1944.

On Nov. 17, 1948, he married Margaret Ihm at St. Clement Catholic Church, Lancaster, and together they farmed for many years in Ellenboro and South Lancaster Townships. Don enjoyed woodworking, and was a member of the Grant County Farm Bureau, as well as a substitute school bus driver for many years. He dearly loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Lancaster; three sons, Terrance (Elaine), Jacksonville, Fla., Richard (Sandy), Lancaster, and Roger (Deanna), Potosi; a daughter, Betty (Eugene) Steiger, Bloomington; six granddaughters; five grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Ken Schlobohm, Chicago, Ill. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by a son, James; a sister, Mary Schlobohm; and his step-mother, Mary Beach Taylor.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at ST. CLEMENT CATHOLIC CHURCH, Lancaster, with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial will be in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster.

Donald married Margaret Ann Ihm, daughter of Walter Ihm and Elizabeth Fuerstenberg, on 17 Nov 1948 in Lancaster, WI, St Clement Catholic Church. (Margaret Ann Ihm was born on 25 Jun 1930 in Lancaster, WI.)
