1. Obituary: Grant County Independent, Lancaster, WI, 5 Mar 1942. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Presbyterian curch for Mrs. Anna Flitsch Wieland, whose death too, place early Monday morning at the home of her son, Charles at Hurricane. She had been in failing health for several weeks. Born in Dubuue, Mrs. Wieland lived most of her life in Grant county. She was the widow of George Wieland, who died in 1935. Surviving are three sons, Charles, Reuben, and Frank, and five daughters, Mrs. Louis Bendorf, and Mrs. Kenneth Taylor, all of this vicinity. Mrs. Clarence Turner, Potosi, Mrs. Glen Koshler, Madison, and Mrs. Leonard Anderson of Fond du Lac. The service was Wednesday, in charge of the Rev. henry A. Schcnitt, with burial at Hurricane. Anne married George August Wieland, son of Rudolph Gabriel Wieland and Maria Truog, on 20 Nov 1887 in Platteville, WI. (George August Wieland was born on 21 May 1864 in Dubuque, IA, died on 23 Mar 1935 in Lancaster, WI and was buried on 25 Mar 1935 in Hurricane, WI, Hurricane Cemetery.). The cause of his death was Pernicious Anemia.
