1. Miscellaneous. Taken by her Barstow grandparents to live in IA where she attended school until she was 10. After her father's marriage to Martha Bushnell, she returned to the Whig community. At the time of the Whig School reunion before the final closing, she was the oldest surviving former pupil in attendance.

When her grandfather became superintendent of the Grant County farm, home for the indigent and asyum for the mentally disturbed, she lived in the family quarters and as an adult by that time helped in the care of the patients.

It was there that she met William McMahon of Harrison Township who was employed there.

Luna married William McMahon, son of John McMahon and Mary Jane Richardson, on 24 Dec 1891 in Lancaster, WI. (William McMahon was born on 2 Mar 1866 in Harrison Township, Grant County, WI, died on 5 Mar 1938 in Lancaster, WI and was buried in Lancaster, WI, Hillside Cemetery.)
