1. Obituary. Leona D. McFall, age 90, died on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at the Lancaster Care Center. She was born on January 16, 1914, in South Lancaster Township, Grant County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Adolph and Mattie (Vesperman) Vesperman. Leona was united in marriage on August 1, 1935, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa to Dale Fletcher McFall. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1972. She and Dale farmed in rural Rewey for many years. She worked at the Grant County Farm in Lancaster, and later worked as a hostess at the El Cid Restaurant and Supper Club in Platteville, Wisconsin. Leona served on the Iowa County Farm Bureau Board, where she was voted Woman of the Year. She loved cooking, quilting, and playing Euchre. She was co-leader for years for the Lucky Stars 4-H. Leona enjoyed helping people and was a very caring person who was always positive and inspirational.

She is survived by five children, John (Elizabeth) McFall of Sigler, Oklahoma; Ruth (Jim) Dobson of Berlin, Wisconsin; Marilyn (Herman) Knight of Rewey, Wisconsin; Victoria May (Robert) Rouse of Rancho Cucamonga, California; Bill (Tammy) McFall of Rewey, Wisconsin; seventeen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathryn Lind of Lone Rock, Wisconsin; Ruth Ripp of Scottsdale, Arizona; one brother, Adolph (Irene) Vesperman of Lancaster, Wisconsin; two sisters in law, Norma and Evelyn Vesperman, both of Lancaster, Wisconsin; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marie Sandleback; and three brothers, Ken, Ralph and Harold "Bud" Vesperman.

Services were held Saturday, October 2, 2004, at the Platteville United Methodist Church, Platteville, Wisconsin, Rev. Wendy Christianson officiating.

Leona married Dale Fletcher McFall, son of George Elwood McFall and Eunice Jane Gollmer, on 1 Aug 1935 in Nashua, IA, Little Brown Church. (Dale Fletcher McFall was born on 31 Mar 1911 in Harrison Township, Grant County, WI, died on 5 Jun 1972 in Lancaster, WI and was buried in Lancaster, WI, Hillside Cemetery.)
