General Notes: 25th Reg. Wis Vol Inf, Co. H. Enlisted Aug 13, 1862 for th ree years. The 25gh Wis was part of the Vicsburg campaig n . Edwin was absent sick from Aug 1863 to Feb 1864. In J une and July of 1863, the 25th was at Snyder's Bluff, Ms. w here they formed part of the force surrounding Vicksburg . The position occupied by the regiment was extrememly unh ealthy. The 25th had a large sick list with very few lef t fit for duty. On July 26, the 25th left Snyder's Bluff a nd moved up the Mississippi River to Helena, Ark. Here, al most the entire regiment was placed in the hospital. H e was wounded slightly in the hand by a piece of shell in f ront of Atlanta, Aug 11, 1864. They were in the advance o n Resaca and were in Sherman's "march to the sea." Edwi n was absent sick from Jan. to April 1865. The 25th march ed up through the Carolinas and Va. reaching Washington, D. C. May 24, 1865 where they participated in the Grand Revie w of Sherman's Army. He was mustered out as a Sgt May 29 , 1865.
