2. Obituary: Grant County Independent, Lancaster, WI, 21 Jan 1942. Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Goble Weeden funeral homem for Mrs. Alvinn Bendorf, 77, whose death occurred Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bert Weisbenner in South Lancaster. The service will be in charge of the Rev. Wm. G. Schwemmer. Mrs. Bendorf was born in Germany and came to this country at the age of 17, was the widow of John J. Bendorf who died in 1909. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Weisbenner, and Mrs. Robert McDonald, and five sons, Louis and John of Lancaster, Fred of Beaver Dam, Henry of Montfort and Roland of Livingston. Burial will be at the Hurricane cemetery.

Alvina married John Joseph Bendorf, son of Joseph Carlos Bendorf and Amelia May Hessing, on 26 Jan 1886. (John Joseph Bendorf was born on 12 Sep 1861 in Rockville, WI, died on 20 Feb 1909 in Waterloo, WI and was buried on 23 Feb 1909 in Hurricane, WI, Hurricane Cemetery.)
